I remember being amused by the news of Alfredo Rios Galeana’s capture in South Gate when it came out six years ago. While I had never heard of him until that day, it made perfect sense for a fugitive drug kingpin to live in South Gate and Southeast Los Angeles county, where he’d be just one of millions of Mexicans, fitting in, easily creating a past for himself.
