Felíz cumpleaños, Chente
As you can tell, things on my part have been quiet because of classes. I’m working on a series of posts for L.A. Eastside and here that will probably take me another month to complete. I need myself to get down and write or expand the current drafts. I want to make sure they’re complete before I schedule them to be published because I think they will be something of interest to readers of L.A. Eastside, including those blogs that just link to other blogs.
Today is Vicente Fernández’s 69th birthday! Here’s a video of Chente singing “A mi manera” at a sold out plaza de toros.
I think this video is from a performance at Mexico City’s Plaza de Toros. It was a free show and he announced that if he was not able to fill la Plaza de Toros (it’s the largest in the world), he would retire. It was full to the brim.
‘Cuz I’m bored: 25 things about me
It’s been going around Facebook for so long that it finally reached me. These are fun, I’m bored, and I’m willing to share the following facts.

Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose up to 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you.
(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the note, type your 25 random things, tag up to 25 people (in the right hand corner of the app) then click publish.) Read the rest of this entry »
